One of the biggest pet peeves any YouTube user on iOS or Android has had is the app’s inability to play music while the user wants to check out other apps.
However there are a number of hacks you can use to keep the music playing while doing something else on the phone, both for iOS and Android. Here we bring you a very simple method of doing the same either on your iPhone or Android phone.
iPhone
Step 1: Open Safari on your iPhone and proceed to youtube.com. If you get an option to open the YouTube app, reject it.
Step 2: Play any song that you’d like to play, and as soon as it starts playing, hit the Home button, which will stop the music. But don’t panic.
Step 3: Swipe up on your iPhone to open the Control Centre, where the song will be available to play. Press play, and there you have it. You can play music on YouTube (unconventionally) while using other apps.
If you have an iPad, this will work just fine with that too.
Android
Step 1: Open the Google Play Store, and install Mozilla Firefox.
Step 2: Once installed, open YouTube in the browser and play any song you want to. Once the song starts playing, click the menu button to go to your home screen and voila! Enjoy music on YouTube while doing anything on your phone.
